Collective worship this half term

27 October 2018

This half term we will be focusing on the value of Compassion. In week one we will explore how sometimes we can easily be so busy with the things we want to do, the game we want to play and the people we want to speak to that we fail to notice when someone else needs our help. We will consider the many stories in the Bible about Jesus noticing the needs of others and showing compassion. Jesus put other’s needs before His.

Later during the term, we will also consider the parable of the Good Samaritan and how can we show that we are good neighbours today, and focus on parable of the Lost Sheep: how does it feel when you see someone who is upset or lost or fed up? These feelings of compassion move us to do things that help others in need.

As ever, our Home Values sheet provides a range of activities to support this value at home, including the Home-School Challenge. Please see the website for a copy of this.

And finally, we will also be focusing Remembrance, Anti-bullying Week, Advent and of course Christmas itself, so an exciting half term!
