Holocaust Memorial Day

As part of Holocaust Memorial Day, Class Two learned about what happened during the Second World War.  We heard what happened to Jewish people and how unfairly they were treated, which links in with our RE Judaism topic. The children designed bravery medals to recognise a Holocaust Hero like Nicholas Winton who transported children safely to Britain and arranged for them to be fostered.
We also learnt about Anne Frank and thought about how hard it must have been for her and many other Jewish families at that time.
Lastly, we lit our remembrance candle and said prayers to remember all of the people who were killed during the Holocaust. We reflected on our our lives and hope for a better future.
