Jewish Visitor

Classes 1 and 2 took part in a very informative workshop all about Judaism.  We learned some Jewish songs, dances and looked at interesting artefacts including a Mezuzah, a Yad and a Tefilin.
We learned about how Jewish people celebrate their new year and what is involved in preparing for Shabbat.
We were very pleased to welcome our Jewish visitor, Jane Silver-Corren to our school, to talk to the children about her faith and beliefs.  She showed us many different Jewish items that she uses in her worship and she taught us songs and dances that are used within Jewish festivals. The children learnt a lot about what it is like to be Jewish and enjoyed tasting Challot bread!
