SEND

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

At the Jubilee with Pebblebed Federation our approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is supported by the Local Authority.  We endeavour to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.  We consider ourselves to be an inclusive federation, ensuring that the needs of all pupils are met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.  This is in partnership with the families having taken into account the voice of the child.

Our SENDCo is Jemma Harvey-Jones. She is based across Woodbury Salterton CE Primary School and Broadhembury CE Primary School.  She is available by contacting their school office on 01395 266535 or by email on admin@woodbury-salterton.devon.sch.uk.

Our Assistant SENDCo is available by contacting the school office on 01395 232649 or by email on admin@woodbury-salterton.devon.sch.uk

SEND families invited to get involved in Devon’s SEND improvements

We are inviting all parent carers of children and young people with SEND to join us to discuss how we can improve SEND provision across the local area both now and in the future.

The two-hour sessions are being held in a range of places around Devon in March.

  • Bishop’s Nympton: Monday 13 March, 12pm to 2pm
  • Exeter: Tuesday 21 March 10am to 12pm
  • Willand: Monday 27 March 12pm to 2pm
  • South Brent: Thursday 30 March 10am to 12pm

These sessions are the first set in a series we will hold throughout the year, so if you cannot make one of these, please keep an eye out for future sessions. We will also be organising a virtual version for people who are unable to attend in person.

What will the sessions cover

The sessions will include service leads from NHS Devon, Devon County Council and Children and Family Health Devon. We will outline the actions in the Devon SEND Improvement Plan, before breaking into groups to discuss how we can all work together with parents to deliver it.  You can read a summary of the draft improvement plan on the SEND Local Offer website.

We are here to hear and learn from your experiences.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide updates on individual casework on the day. However we will signpost and share contact details of people that can help.

How to get involved

We will be opening bookings on Eventbrite next week.

Please feel free to spread the word about these session with other families of children and young people with SEND in your area.
