Advice to school and parents

8 October 2018

Devon and Cornwall Police Major Crime Team have been in the Brixington area of Exmouth following a violent assault of a 10-year-old girl in the Marley Road area on afternoon, Thursday 4th October.

This was clearly a serious and rare event for the area and police have been putting significant resources to this investigation. This means that there will be a high police presence in and around Exmouth as part of their investigation and to help offer public reassurance.

The advice from Devon and Cornwall police is as follows:

There is no need to change immediate school pick-up plans.
Please be reassured there are significant police resources in Exmouth.
Please avoid speculation including via social media, as this may lead to further upset for others including the family
If you have any information in relation this matter then please call 101, and feel free to speak to any officer you see in the area if you need further reassurance
As a school, we will be sharing safety messages with the children.

For the latest updates and information, please see the Devon and Cornwall police website, they will also issue updates via our twitter page @DCpolice and our main facebook page. Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting log 636 for the 4th of October.
